So quick update on my classes:
- World Geography: A yay!
- Intro to Computers: A yay!
- Human Sexuality: A yay!
- Fitness Walking: A (seriously, is it possible to NOT get an A in this class?)
- Nutrition Concepts and Controversies: C (I feel like I should be sad about this, but it's the highest grade in the class right now, because as of 2 weeks ago, the WHOLE class was failing. I got a B on the test so it bumped my grade up to a C. I'm hoping I can keep it at a C or higher, because if I can keep it at a C, then I make the dean's list! I went and spoke to my teacher, and unfortunately there is no extra credit option, but I'm doing everything I can to keep my grade up!)
We walked in and saw that there were no carts. Never a good sign. So we went back to the parking lot and grabbed one. Then we went back inside. THERE WAS NO BREAD. I'm not kidding. We were laughing so bad, but then at the exact same time thinking, crap...we're not going to be able to buy any food. There was also no produce, the only fruit was watermelon and absolutely no meat. I've left some pictures below of the grocery store.
The next day I had no school. It didn't snow or rain or anything that day. I seriously could have gone to school that day. Oh well. The next day it snowed A LOT. No school then either. We were stuck inside. That night we got a call from our friend Arianne. She lives in Duluth, MN, but we used to work with her at the Old Broadway. We were shocked to get a call from her because, we don't get to hear from anyone much at home. Well, her family went on a trip to Jamaica, and their flight got cancelled and they all got split up. Her flight didn't get to leave. So she was stranded in the Atlanta airport. We went and picked her up from the airport and drove through the snow, not the best conditions I've ever driven in, but at least we knew how to get out of skids if it happened. We only had one bad skid, but thankfully we got out of it rather quickly.
We took Arianne out to the Marietta Diner and visited with her, and brought her back to our apartment. She spent the night and then we took her back to the airport the next morning. Her flight made it home no problem.
I got to go to class the next day finally and catch up on one class. It was Valentine's Day, but Michael and I agreed to postpone Valentine's Day until the following Monday because neither one of us had left the apartment to get either one what we planned. On Sunday we went out to a Dine-In Movie Theater with Johanna and her boyfriend, Joe who flew in for Valentine's Day. It was cool, but the Lego Movie wasn't that great, LOL.
On Monday, I woke up to a little stuffed animal giraffe with some candy and a card before I left for class. I got Michael a card and then I made him a bunch of little notes to open randomly throughout the year. We went out to a sports bar that night and had a drink and watched the Olympics there.
After that I went back to studying because I had a LOT of tests last week. 4, so basically every class but fitness walking. Thankfully I did well on all my tests and can somewhat relax this week. I have a big project due in 2 weeks for my Nutrition class, so I hope I can get it done early enough so I'm not stressing about it.
As for other news. Michael and I are still trying to find a job for him. I've given his resume to Dr. Caroline who I see weekly. Her husband, David, works with computers. She gave his resume to her husband and to her CA (Chiropractic Assistant). Her CA, Chelsey, thinks she may have found a job for Michael, so we are hoping for the best. We are seeing them on Friday, so we are hoping for good news.
Michael and I have been flirting with the idea of becoming parents TO A DOG. Don't freak out, lol. We applied for an adorable puppy named Dexter last weekend after we went and saw him. Unfortunately, we were not picked and they went with another applicant. We've been debating if it's for the best, because we just found out that our apartment requires that we pay a $400 fee for a pet. If we had known about that, I don't think we would have applied for a dog yet. Honestly, we both don't think a pet is in the budget right now, at least until Michael can find a job and we have some extra income to spend on the pet fee.
Lastly, I got an email for my orientation for chiropractic, as I start in April!! So excited!! I have my orientation next Friday and I get to meet all of the students that will be in my class. It makes it seem all so real. I'm excited too because I know these people will be my friends because we will have every class together until we graduate!! The great thing about my class too is that we start in Spring so we won't have a very large class. I'm so grateful that I've gotten this far and all of the encouragement from my friends and family has meant the world to me!
That being said, if any family out there is feeling like I need a little more encouragement and wants to come visit, I would love that! I have had a few rough days from all of the studying and tests and I really miss my family. I know that I'm excited to see some of my Dad's family at the end of March for my spring break in the Virgin Islands. I'm looking forward to that, but it sucks cause they're not all going, and my Mom's family won't be there. Hint, Hint...Come visit!! LOL, I love you all family!! P.S. Mom, Dad, Jack, I have a feeling I'm going to bawl when I get to see you at the Atlanta airport for our flight to the Virgin Islands!
That's all for now, here's some photos of what's been going on lately!
