Driving Day 2

Well, we made it to Nashville! So glad that day 2 is over!!

Mom and I got up at about 7 and left Kansas City, MO by 7:30. We stopped in Columbia, MO for breakfast along the way at an IHOP. We were visiting with the waiter who has an aunt who lives in Moorhead, it was pretty unexpected that he knew where we were from! Then we stopped at the grocery store to get me some stuff for my cold. I have an awful cold right now, I've probably used up half a box of kleenex today. Not fun.

We passed through St. Louis and I finally got to see the arch for the first time ever! We didn't go inside, but driving by it was still really cool!! A few hours later we were driving and we saw a sign that said largest superman...."what the heck is that?" lol then we see that the town we are coming to is called Metropolis, IL "the home of superman."  I look at mom and ask her if we should stop. "No, that's dumb." 2 seconds later..."Let's do it!" LOL. So we pull off of the road and go to Metropolis, IL and take a picture with Superman. There's a whole museum dedicated to Superman too, but we didn't go in it.

Too funny. Then we eventually made it to Nashville and it was about 5:30. We drove around downtown looking at buildings and the many street performers. My camera on my phone hasn't been working well, but we got it figured out in the hotel!

Here are some of our pictures from Nashville!

This is where the Tennessee Titans play

And some more pics:

We had dinner at a restaurant called Puckett's Grocery and Restaurant. It had a stage and live music and we had some southern food! We had fried green tomatoes and I had some fried catfish! Now we are back in the hotel and I'm about to go to bed but I just wanted to post our pics!

Tomorrow depending on what opens when and if we can get in, we are either going to the Grand Ole Opry or the Country Music Hall of Fame before we drive the rest of the way to Atlanta tomorrow! Goodnight people, I'm tired!!

The Journey Begins...

My family and my wonderful boyfriend Michael and I moved our stuff out of my first apartment ever yesterday. I was sad to say goodbye to "my first place." Plus, the fact that we emptied it, made everything suddenly seem so real. We realized that the trailer that we were going to use was too small. So tomorrow my dad is getting a new one from U-HAUL that is a larger driving one, and they (Dad and Jack) are going to tow my car. They're leaving on Wednesday, which unfortuately for Dad is his birthday. We will just have to throw a birthday party for him when he meets us in Georgia.

After countless moments of my bawling my eyes out saying goodbye to many friends and family and the only town I've never known as home, the day finally came for Mom and I to begin the drive to Georgia in Dad's car. As most of my family knows, Dad's car has terrible luck on road trips, so hopefully everything goes well on our way to Georgia. We just stopped in Kansas City, MO to rest for the night. We just had dinner from the hotel and are now watching Once Upon a Time. Then back to bed to get up and drive to Nashville, TN!
